The Technology

The Benefit.
Not too hot, not too cold, but just right.

Our Tempagenix Performance Wear uses Outlast® temperature regulating textiles to adjust to your skin’s microclimate and offer more comfort through proactive heat management.

Everybody’s sensitivity to temperature change is different, which means everyone sweats or becomes chilled at different rates. But the temperature corridor in which we feel comfortable is relatively narrow: when the body core temperature of 98.6°F fluctuates only 3°F upwards or downwards we are subject to fever or hypothermia.

Here is where Outlast products help. They reduce temperature swings and influence the comfort zone efficiently. The microclimate is balanced, one sweats less and is less chilled.

  • Active temperature regulation
  • Less overheating
  • Less chilling
  • Less perspiration
  • More comfort

What is Active Temperature Regulation?

Outlast materials absorb excess body heat when too much is created and release it again to the body when needed. As a welcomed “side effect”, sweating is reduced dramatically while temperature is balanced actively and dynamically.

  • Outlast technology is based on the use of microcapsules which can absorb, store and release excess body heat.

  • Outlast materials buffer temperature swings and hold the temperature in a comfortable range.

  • The temperature regulating effect repeats continuously and an unlimited number of times.

The Origin

Outlast technology was originally developed for NASA to protect astronauts in space from temperature fluctuations. Outlast has the broadest range of phase change material (PCM) textiles in the market offering smart solutions as the global leader. Outlast technology is the only PCM that carries the Certified Space TechnologyTM seal and is the only textile application to be inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame.®
