Dayton, OH – Tempagenix cofounders April Pollock and Shelly Heller recently received the 2020 Eastway Community Partner Award for the company’s “innovation and commitment to community health and safety,” as well as its ongoing partnership with Eastco, an employment service that helps people with a variety of special needs find and maintain meaningful work. The honor is the latest to cap off an award-winning and successful year for Tempagnix.

“This award means so much to our team, especially coming from a valued partner and an organization that does so much for the community,” said Pollock. “From the beginning, we’ve always strived to deliver a good product and have a positive impact. We’re beyond pleased that we’ve been able to do so through our partnership with Eastco.”

Tempagenix paired with Eastco in 2020 to assist in the assembly of the company’s Temp-N-Toss Forehead Thermometer product. The partnership quickly bore fruit for both organizations. Thanks to the relationship, Eastco was able to hire more than 30 individuals with disabilities and generate more than $56,000 in revenue while Tempagenix has kept pace with soaring demand for its disposable forehead thermometer product.

“When we learned more about Eastway and the service they provide through Eastco, we were immediately interested. Their model of providing meaningful, life-changing employment to marginalized groups in our community really spoke to our ideals.” said Heller.
